I've got me stuck with the choice of the replacement mobo for my HP Elitebook 6930p. As it happened, my laptop model FL488AW#ABA:
has no less than three variants of mobo: couple with Intel IGP, one with ATI. While mine reports it's Intel, it leaves an alternative still.
Moreover, full disassemblage and picking up an "exact" mobo p/n to order may also lead to the mistake of using the same exactly mobo that turned defective in the first place:
In other words, I'd love to know whether ATI-based 6930p mobos are more reliable.
If anything, mobo re-flowing, or full diagnostics and replacing some dried out and very Chinese "capacitor electrolitico" would sure cost much more than 2 or 3 used mobos at eBay ($13...$24 a pop)
So, I sent my potential mobo dealer this additional information and waiting for the delivery baking some Russian blinis by my Ukrainian grandma's recipe:
(to be continued, both about mobo and blinis)
