For 64 bit Ubuntus, this fresh manual is still rough, but it works. With some patience, lol. For 32 bit Ubuntus, there might be more obstacles, I don't know.
In my case, I've got
Errors were encountered while processing:
libavdevice-extra-53_0.8.10ubuntu0.12.04.1_amd64.deb
and neither player nor mozilla plugin have been installed. Completely removed Tv-Maxe, Miro which might have been messed with their "libavdevices", so I will have a clean slate to start with.
From here, I could try to repeat the whole installation process, but just this command helped in my case:
sudo apt-get install acestream-player acestream-mozilla-plugin
Sure, the price of using a badly compiled Ace Player Ubuntu 12.04 in Ubuntu 14.04 is not prohibitively high, but a better TS Player is needed in any case.
I wouldn't recommend using Ace Player with Chrome/Chromium of latest versions which recently have started to mess up with every and all 3rd party plugins/extensions.
For Windows 8.1 on my ASUS VivoTab Note 8, Ace Stream Player coupled with Magic Player was installed and worked without any hiccups. Sure enough, you won't find it in an "offcial" MS Store, but at least Ace from the site of its developers works fine.
