While everyone seems to be enamored by Lenovo Beacon personal "Cloud" box unveiled today, ASUS VivoTab Note 8 didn't show up just yet at CES 2014. Latest ASUS show as of now is limited to this ASUS Transformer Book Duet. Don't get be wrong, even if I look like interested only in their VivoTab Note 8. Book Duet would definitely be a star of the show if only it had a Wacom screen.
Well, well, well, what we see here: VivoTab Note 8 made its appearance. A suggested price of $299 looks like a tidbit high than the projected $249, but otherwise it's on the top of all Windows 8-inchers of 2013.
Here's how official specs were presented as of now:
- Windows 8.1
- 8-inch HD (1280 x 800) IPS display
- Intel Atom Z3740 processor
- Integrated Professional Wacom Digitizer Stylus with EMR Technology
- 2GB LPDDR3 memory
- 5MP rear camera and HD front-facing camera
- 802.11 ABGN, Bluetooth 4.0+HS, Miracast
- Up to 64GB internal storage, up to 64GB microSD card slot and bundled unlimited ASUS WebStorage (1 year)
- Micro USB
- 15.5Whr battery
- 220.9 x 133.8 x 10.95mm
- 380g
The ultimate 8-incher still not here, and with a current ridiculous naming pattern it might bear name ASUS VivoTab Note 8 Pro and hopefully bring on top of this:
1. 1920x1080 (or 1200) IPS screen
2. 4GB RAM
3. Windows 8.1 64 bit option
4. HDMI, a dedicated power/charging dock, or separate power socket
5. Cover with BT keyboard
Once this one hits BestBuy near me for $299, then I'm all in, lol. That is, unless I get me lightly used Fujitsu Lifebook 904 for the same 3 Franklins: Three of these
must go a long way. But Fujitsu 904 is way too hard to get at such a discount.
