Google Nexus 5: New Rumors

As always, the first rumors that have brought more or less detailed specs for coming Nexus 5 were the most feverish. Next days, or weeks inevitably bring some sobering up. Sure, new rumors may add more stuff to be excited about. It just didn't happen today.

The Ubergizmo article that I'm quoting is gushing over a hint that the Nexus 5 will have a Nikon camera. Maybe even a Nikon branding will somehow show up along with LG and Google. Vic Gundotra quipped that Nexus 5 camera will be "insanely great camera".

That's a sheer hype. There's only one good (not great)  Nikon camera running Android, and it's this one:

I somehow doubt Nexus 5 could be made in this Coolpix form factor. If somehow it will, then sure, this will be one "insanely great" camera that can also make calls and play Angry Birds. Not gonna happen.

In other words, I'm pretty skeptical of any such proclamations.

Other disillusionment is a rumor that Nexus 5 will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 (not 800) and in 2 GB of RAM (not 3 GB). This is quite sad news, as a supposedly "insanely great cam" may require a use of extra RAM: just imagine real-time 2160p HDR 30 FPS/1080p HDR 60 FPS video recording, and you will see where 3 GB of fast RAM is better than 2 GB.

More of wishful thinking on the theme is presented on the title picture.
