Comparison of these specs with what Acer C7 Chromebook can offer show me that this Pavilion can hardly be worth more than $249. Even at $199 level which I believe it will be sold very soon, this Pavilion model has not much to offer above Acer C7:

-- 14" screen: that is, if you don't care about display density which is pretty poor 1366x768;
-- Flash cache with size of full SSD capacity could be of value, but it's hard to tell when there's no practical benchmarks available;
-- upgradeability of RAM to 4 GB is good, but not as good as 16 GB of RAM max limit for Acer C7 which actually can eliminate the need of employing any "Flash cache";
-- Altec Lansing speakers could be seriously better than piss-poor Acer's.

My take on the initial pricing for this HP Pavilion 14-c010us Chromebook is that Google with its Chromebook partners play OLPC scheme with Chromebooks: say, you pay $330 for this Pavilion and actually buy two units: one is for you, another goes to schools for free.

With everybody going gaga about Samsung ARM Chromebook while practically ignoring cheaper and upgradeable Acer C7 with significantly superior perfprmance, I don't see how HP is going to move these 14-c010us units at $330. However, HP has that past experience with hysterical fire sale of their HP TouchPads, so we'll see.

As for really new Chromebook models, at $330 I'd rather expect something with 1920x1800 touch (Wacom) screen and powered by Intel i3 or i5 chipsets.
