Samsung Galaxy Note II: Another Look

There's no lack of excited reviews on current Samsung flagship phablet, the mighty Samsung Galaxy Note II. However, you won't find a single review that can demo all the powerful stylus features that phablet offers. Reviewers may just admit they didn't read the manual. Some of them almost swear they won't open that manual. They just sit and wait when that mysterious functionality would reveal itself magically.

And magic it is: just have a look at what a Korean Note II Pro can do with it. It doesn't matter you won't understand a single word, or a meaning of this or that gesture. Just sit tight and enjoy:

I'm perfectly aware of the fact that majority of Note II owners who decided to switch to it from some non-stylus touch phones would face a certain learning curve to master. Then, more often than not, and sooner than later the stock stylus without a lanyard and the whole to tie it to the Note II would get lost. A brand replacement can be pretty expensive. For such emergencies, and also for people unwilling to use a "traditional" pen-like stylus I would suggest that Samsung, or any other third party would add a fingernail ring with a teflon/wear-resistant coat on a Wacom-sensitive point/core as an accessory. Wearing the fingernail ring may look quite ridiculous, but if it is made to have a "Note" engraving on it, or look like one of those claws on Wolverine in the title picture, it may become more of a necessity, than a nuisance. Have your choice of prototypes:

And here's one for ladies who own Samsung Galaxy Note, but find its stock stylus clumsy. Or don't find it anywhere. It's just $5 +S&H from China, so a lady won't regret much if this bejeweled stylus would also get lost:
