Dell Inspiron 1520

It was a good trip to Santa Cruz flea market today. Among other "treasures",  I have found a more or less decent Dell Inspiron 1520 pulled out from some dump site. Dealer wanted $40 for it, but as the laptop has showed the locked BIOS, I was able to purchase it for $20. About $15 of these funds go for "native" Dell AC Adapter, so it's a good deal for Core 2 Duo 2 GB RAM machine. Whatever stupidly locked BIOS is there, I was able to boot Linux Mint 17 only to discover it sports relatively bright 1920x1200 display (my favourite among 15.4" displays). Some backlight seeps through in the bottom and at one tiny point on the left edge, but what would you expect from a laptop salvaged from a dust bin?

Sure, its keyboard is missing a "Y" key, but whatever rubber pimp was left under it works fine.

Next thing would be restoring full access to this machine's BIOS.
