Fish Soup in Capitola
As you can see from the picture above, it's not that soup you can serve easily in soup bowl. It's quite thin for that. But in every other aspect this morning's fog wonderfully smells and even tastes of fish soup, even if a little bit too cooled for that.
99 per cent of Capitolans hate fish, let alone fish soups. Salmons and lobsters are tolerated, even cherished, though. But I'm Russian, and for me today's fog has a mouthwatering smell and taste.
Must be a whale which decided to throw itself on one of Capitola little beaches last stormy night. Whaling is prohibited here, so apparently plenty of sick, old whales have no other way to end their whale lives than to throw themselves on California beaches. But I didn't check directly at the ocean shore which is 855 metres from me. The smell is thick enough even here.
The best way to remedy my fish craving would be eating couple of sandwiches with salmon, or better salmon caviar called "fish bait" in these lands. But this my vobla will do just fine:
The genuine Volga, or Caspian vobla is so expensive here I can't afford its classic serving:
Microbrewery beer brand is "Golden Vobla", by the way. I could gladly go with Plzen Prazdroj here: but I can't: need to save money to get me a cheapo Zotac Tegra Note. Or EVGA Tegra Note, or PNY Tegra Note, or HP's one, whichever comes first. Or cheapo used Intel i3-i5 Linux box and cheapo D-Link 5 gigabit port switch to build me a server for my extremely dumb and locked undocumented HP Minis. Or refurb/open box HP Slate 21. Or slightly used, but having no screen defects Nook HD+. Or working hi-res screened ThinkPad T61p, diskless and OS-less is OK.
